Nature Storeroom carries Gluten free foods and wheat free foods for those on a Gluten Free Diet due to Celiac Disease, Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD, ADHD) or other health reasons. Many of our products are also milk/lactose free, sugar free, corn free, egg free and/or soy free. We cater for people on special diets due to Celiac Disease, wheat intolerance, wheat allergy and/or multiple food allergies. Celiac disease, also known as gluten intolerance, is a genetic disorder that affects roughly 1 in 133 people. Symptoms of celiac disease can range from the classic features, such as diarrhea, weight loss, and malnutrition, to latent symptoms such as isolated nutrient deficiencies but no gastrointestinal symptoms. Those affected suffer damage to the villi in their intestines. A Gluten Free Diet is prescribed to treat people with celiac disease to avoid this damage and the related disorders that are associated with the disease.
